2024 is a celebratory year marking Badger‘s 15th season of paddle-making and canoeing adventures. While wanting to make this year special for Badger, we couldn’t ignore the impact and implications of last summer’s forest fires.
Yes, Badger Paddles may be a super small business with a minuscule marketing budget. But even still, we felt that our marketing dollars could be put to better use than purchasing online ads or buying more t-shirts.
Thus, for 2024, we are putting the bulk of our marketing funds towards reforestation efforts with One Tree Planted and our new anniversary issue canoe paddles. And we do so with the hope of planting over 1000 trees!
We also hope you will join us in celebrating our anniversary year and help us to support reforestation efforts. Because when you purchase a 2024 ANNIVERSARY ISSUE Badger canoe paddle, you will be assisting in the regeneration of forests across North America and around the globe.

Reforestation can be defined as the process of replanting trees in areas that have been affected by natural disturbances like wildfires, drought, and insect and disease infestations — and unnatural ones like logging, mining, agricultural clearing, and development. This can mean anything from supporting natural regeneration in an area that has been degraded to planting ecologically appropriate tree seedlings after forest fires.

Our ANNIVERSARY ISSUE canoe paddles include our much coveted Forest Edition paddles as well as our customary stock Badger paddles.*
Moreover, in 2024, for every Badger canoe paddle built and sold, one tree will be planted.
And now for every Forest Edition canoe paddle built and sold in 2024 there will be five trees planted!
All ANNIVERSARY ISSUE paddles include a mini tree certificate hangtag to identify the paddle as a 2024 anniversary build. As well, each hangtag will highlight an official certificate number from onetreeplanted.org
*With some exceptions, for example: The Happy Camper Paddle, Cubs, prototypes, blems, etc.
*Forest Edition Canoe Paddles only
See our TREES PLANTED page for more information and discover how many seedlings have been planted to date!
